Illustrating PhotoLounge’s Summer Campaign
PhotoLounge is a Philly-based retailer providing all things photography to Philadelphia’s creative community for 24 years and counting.
CHALLENGE
How could the content team’s first official campaign connect with customers on an emotional level, expanding the value PhotoLounge provides beyond its physical products?
My Role / TEAM
Once the team narrowed in on the campaign “Making Summer Memories”, I presented:
9 thumbnail concepts of common summer activities we expected PhotoLounge customers would be enjoying
drafted 3 visual design directions to explore the desired tone
illustrated 4 scenes based on chosen tone, each targeting at unique buyer persona
CONSIDERATIONS
To ensure customers experienced consistent brand messaging, I made sure that:
illustrations did not specify a product, instead focusing on an emotional memory
palette needed to include colors from product iconography
minimal spatial depth and object detail to reflect semi-flat product iconography
each image’s content could be formatted for omni-channel distribution
